For the last twelve years, The Voice Lab, Inc. has been pioneering gender-affirming voice care for singers and speakers across the globe. We are at it again with a new way to build your studio or private practice that, as far as we know, hasn’t been tried before. We are nothing if not adventurous!
Your trans and queer students (and siblings) forge their own path and it’s likely that you do, too. Let’s work together.
Two ways to get connected:
Referral Team Membership
$100 per month
Includes:
Listing on the Our Teachers page of the website with:
Your name, specialties, and gorgeous face
A personalized bio page that speaks to The Voice Lab’s clientele about why they should work with you
Direct links from our website to yours, so students can get started with you right away
What you need to get started:
A scheduling/billing platform (like Acuity with Stripe)
A website or direct booking page where we can send potential clients
**If we don’t know each other yet, we may request a video of your teaching, or a personal interview so that we can fully absorb your vibe and make sure our people find you.
Waitlist Matchmaking
$100 per individual referral
(in addition to membership fee)
How it works:
A new client boops themself over to our website and submits an inquiry form for lessons.
We follow up to ask if they’d like us to make a recommendation and connection for a teacher on our referral team.
If they say yes, then we send you and the client an email with:
All the info from their inquiry form
An introduction and glowing recommendation
Direct link to book with you
If they don’t respond, we’ll follow up one more time just to make sure the email didn’t get tossed into the promos folder
After the email introduction, we will follow up with you and the client to make sure you got connected and started on the process of working together.
Once we get confirmation that the client has booked with you, we’ll send an invoice.

Q: How will this help me build my studio or private practice?
A: As a referral teacher, we connect you directly with our vibrant, global customer base. We know you would rather spend more of your time working with students and clients and less time on marketing. We gotchoo.
Q: Can I sign up for waitlist matchmaking without the membership fee?
A: The membership is the foundation for matchmaking; it lets us create and boost your studio so our community can find you. Without a listing, we can’t match you with students.
Q: What if I don’t get a new client in any given month? Do I still need to pay for a monthly membership?
A: Yes, because of the way our community makes decisions about voice lessons. Consistency is key; it’s likely that a potential client will visit our website 2 or 3 times before they’re ready to send in an inquiry or connect with you directly.
(and the math: $1200 per year is equivalent to the revenue of 12-15 lessons, probably about 6 month’s worth of sessions for one client. So, even if you get only one new client from your listing, you’ll still be ahead)
