Welcome! Please find our studio policies below.
1. Scheduling Lessons
a. Recurring Lessons
The Voice Lab strives to keep weekly, consistent lesson times for each student. Once a student finds a consistent lesson time, The Voice Lab staff will place lessons on schedule ad nauseum to hold the lesson spot. Payments apply as students select (monthly or weekly, processed on either the 25th of the preceding month, or no less than 7 days in advance. See below.). Recurring lessons will cease to be scheduled upon request of student, in agreement with teacher, or in the event the Lesson Cancellation policy is violated (see below).
b. Standby Status
Students who wish to schedule on a week-by-week basis will be considered “Standby.” Standby students may schedule a lesson no more than ten days in advance, and payment is due at the time the lesson is scheduled.
2. Payment Information
a. The Voice Lab requires all students to keep a credit card on file. Monthly lesson payments are made by automatic debit on the 25th of every month for the upcoming month, or by automatic debit 7 days in advance of the scheduled lesson. By keeping a credit card on file students consent to automatic charges for scheduled lessons as outlined above.
If monthly payments are declined, clients will automatically be charged according to the weekly billing plan, until confirmation of the monthly billing is reinstated.
We understand that there may be events or travel that disrupt your regular weekly schedule. It is the student’s responsibility to keep The Voice Lab informed about lesson schedule changes so that payments accurately reflect the lesson schedule.
To avoid unnecessary charges, students who have either two consecutive “no-show” lessons or three consecutive “late-cancel” lessons will be automatically moved to standby status.
If you choose to discontinue lessons or remove your card on file, a written statement of withdrawal must be made by the 20th of the month to cancel payment processing for the upcoming month, or by 8 days prior to the scheduled lesson.
b. Refunds
Refunds are only granted if requested in writing. Refund requests on prepaid lessons must be made prior to the 48-hour cancellation window (see below) and only are accepted for full-price lessons. Discount lesson or sale packages will not be refunded. Refunds for workshop or class registration are only available if requested prior to the registration close date.
3. Lesson Fees
Lesson fees vary per teacher and per lesson length. Appointment lengths are displayed as total time on the calendar. Teachers may elect to end lessons a few minutes before their next appointment.
Master Instructors: $90/60-min; $68/45-min; $45/30-min
Senior Instructors: $80/60-min; $60/45-min; $40/30-min
Instructors: $75/60-min; $56/45-min; $38/30-min
4. Lesson Cancellation
Notice of lesson cancellation must be made at least 48 hours prior to the scheduled lesson. Adequate notice must be confirmed via WellnessLiving, email, or phone call by The Voice Lab office (schedule@thevoicelabinc.com or 773-360-8507). Notice to the instructor does not guarantee cancellation.
If a lesson cancellation request occurs with less than 48 hours notice, payment may be forfeited.
If a student arrives more than 15 minutes late, the lesson will be considered a no-show appointment and the fee may be forfeited.
Students who have either two consecutive “no-show” lessons or three consecutive “late-cancel” lessons will be automatically moved to standby status, and the regular lesson appointment time may be forfeited.
5. New Student Lessons, Fee, and New Student Package
All new students are offered a reduced rate introductory lesson. This introductory lesson may be rescheduled no more than once in accordance with our Cancellation Policy before the reduced rate offer is rescinded. New students may be offered a New Student Package. The New Student Package is a one-time, 10% discount for 4 lessons available for purchase at the time of the Introductory Lesson.
6. Technology
The Voice Lab offers online lessons. It is required for the client to have adequate internet, video, and audio for lessons. In the event of a technical failure on the part of the client, the lesson may be forfeited. In the event of a technical failure on the part of The Voice Lab, the payment will be applied to the student’s account as credit toward a future lesson.
