Why do you sing? To speak truth to power; and for catharsis. Music is often a tool in comedy to satirically ease an audience into a receptive state and, whether or not they agree with the topic, they listen. I believe the same is true with emotion. Music is a channel, emotion is energy. When our body isn't in a receptive state for a emotion-of any kind-music can help open us up and become not healed, but aware of what we feel. What would you tell someone who's thinking about taking voice lessons? This community is worth experiencing. |
What is your favorite thing about working at The Voice Lab?
The unconditional support of anyone who walks through the door, be it from other students, teachers, or admin. The Voice Lab is a community and I've lived my life seeking spectacular communities. The encouragement and consistent nurturing of one another is exhilarating. What are some of your other artistic outlets? I love writing and performing improv and sketch; I do voice-over for commercials and video games, stand-up, character showcases, and recreational soccer. I'm also really good at making people Mii's and bitmojis. |
